Nudgit! Privacy Policy
Nudgit is a reminder app that runs on your device, and it is built so that an account is optional. Skip the sign-in and nothing about you reaches us at all. Sign in and your reminders are backed up to your own document so they survive a reinstall or a new phone. There are no advertisements, no analytics and no third-party trackers in the app, and we never sell or share your data.
1. The short version
- If you do not sign in, your reminders never leave your phone except through Android’s own backup, which you control in your device settings. We hold nothing about you.
- If you do sign in, your reminders are also stored in your own document in our Firebase project, so they survive a reinstall or a new phone.
- There are no advertisements, no analytics and no third-party trackers in this app. Nothing is used for advertising or profiling, and nothing is sold.
2. Who is responsible
Nudgit is published by ClickGear Labs (“we”, “us”, “our”). For anything in this policy, including a request to see or delete your data, contact info@clickgearlabs.com.
3. What is stored on your device
Whether or not you have an account, Nudgit keeps the following in its own private storage, which other apps cannot read:
- Your reminders — title, message, schedule, quantity goals, priority and pause state — so the app can show and fire them.
- Today’s log, and up to 60 days of per-day history — how many reminders were kept, and how late the replies were. This is what the History and Statistics screens draw.
- Your display name, shown on the dashboard.
- Your settings — delivery and quiet hours, and the character and outfit you picked — so the app behaves the way you set it.
Reminder text is yours and we do not inspect it. Be aware, though, that if you put a medication name or a dose into a reminder — a normal thing to do in this app — that text is part of the reminder, so it goes wherever the reminder goes: the file on your device, Android’s backup, and, if you are signed in, your cloud document.
4. Android’s own backup
Nudgit allows Android Auto Backup. If backup is switched on in your device settings and a Google account is attached to the device, Android may copy your reminders file and the app’s preferences into your own Google Drive backup area. This is a Google platform feature: the data counts against your Drive quota, it is not visible to us, and you control it under Settings → Google → Backup.
An avatar photograph, if one ever exists on your device, is excluded from cloud backup and is only carried by a direct phone-to-phone transfer.
5. If you create an account
Signing in is optional and the app is fully usable without it. If you do sign in, we use Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, both operated by Google LLC, and the following applies.
What we receive, depending on how you sign in.
- Google — your name, your email address and a Google account identifier.
- Phone number — your phone number.
- Email and password — your email address. The password is handled entirely by Firebase; we never see it.
In every case we also receive a Firebase user ID, which is the identifier your data is filed under. If you signed in by phone or email we ask you for a display name; if you signed in with Google we use the name Google already supplied.
What we store in the cloud. One document, filed under your user ID, holding your reminder set — the same content described in section 3, as a single value. Nothing else. Security rules restrict that document so that only your own signed-in session can read or write it.
When it is read and written. The copy on your device is always written first; the cloud copy is updated afterwards. The cloud copy is only read back when the app finds no reminders on the device — a fresh install, or a new phone.
Where it is processed. Firebase processes and stores this data on Google’s infrastructure, which may be outside your country. Google acts as our processor. See Google’s Privacy Policy and the Firebase data disclosures.
6. Network connections the app makes
Nudgit is an offline app with exactly one exception: Firebase, and only once you have signed in, to authenticate you and to sync your reminders.
That is the whole list. If you never sign in, Nudgit makes no network requests at all. There is no other server, no analytics endpoint, and no backend of our own beyond the Firebase project described above.
7. Permissions, and what each is for
- Notifications — to deliver a reminder. Refuse it and reminders are silent.
- Alarms & reminders (exact alarms) — a dose reminder has to fire at the time you set, not “around then”. Refuse it and reminders fall back to inexact timing.
- Full-screen intent — to show a reminder over the lock screen, when you have that turned on. Optional.
- Display over other apps — so the character can appear over whatever you are doing. Optional: refuse it and the reminder arrives as an ordinary notification.
- Vibrate — the reminder buzz on older Android versions.
- Run at startup — alarms do not survive a reboot, so the app re-books your own reminders.
- Internet — sign-in and reminder sync.
Nudgit does not ask for your camera, your location, your contacts, your files or your microphone, and it cannot read any of them.
8. Children’s privacy
Nudgit is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact info@clickgearlabs.com and we will delete it.
9. Keeping and deleting your data
Without an account there is nothing for us to delete — removing the app removes its data from your device. Android’s backup copy is cleared through your Google account’s backup settings.
With an account, your cloud document is kept for as long as the account exists.
- Sign out from Settings. Your reminders stay on the device and nothing is deleted from the cloud.
- Delete your account and cloud data from inside the app: Settings → your account → Delete account. It asks twice, then removes your cloud document and your sign-in record immediately. If your session is more than a few minutes old, Firebase asks you to sign in again first — that is a security measure, and the app says so.
- Or ask us: email info@clickgearlabs.com from the address, or with the phone number, you signed in with. We will delete both within 30 days and confirm when it is done.
Deleting the account does not remove the copy on your own device; uninstalling the app does.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the EU/UK GDPR and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act — you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data protection authority. Use info@clickgearlabs.com for any of these. We do not charge for a reasonable request.
Our legal basis for processing the small amount of account data we hold is performance of a contract — you asked us to keep your reminders across devices, and this is what that takes.
11. Security
Traffic to Firebase is encrypted in transit. Your cloud document is protected by security rules that permit access only to your own signed-in session. On the device, the reminder file lives in app-private storage that other apps cannot read. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects data we already hold, tell you in the app before it takes effect.
